Audience (Ad Targeting)
A saved group of people inside an ad platform that you can serve targeted ads to.
An audience on ad platforms (Meta, TikTok, Google, LinkedIn) is a saved list of people you can target with ads. Three main flavors exist:
1) Cold audiences — people who do not know your brand, reached by interests, demographics, and behaviors. 2) Warm audiences (retargeting) — people with prior touchpoints: site visitors, video viewers, engagement reactors. 3) Custom audiences — uploaded lists of emails, phone numbers, or customer IDs.
Conversion power-move: from a custom audience you can build a lookalike audience. The platform finds statistical twins of your best buyers, so you can prospect new customers who behave like the people who already pay you.
