Lead
A person who has shown qualified interest — typically by submitting their email or requesting a demo.
In marketing, a lead is someone who has done more than passively browse. They submitted their email, requested a demo, downloaded a whitepaper, or otherwise raised their hand.
Leads are the bridge between traffic and revenue. From 1,000 visitors you might generate 50 leads; from 50 leads you might close 5 customers. For most B2B and high-ticket B2C businesses, lead generation is the most important marketing output.
Practical tip: pair your short links with a lead magnet. Instead of routing traffic straight to a sales page, send it to a bio page with a newsletter signup. You build a list you own — independent of platform algorithms.
