vCard is an open standard (RFC 6350) for electronic business cards. A vCard file (.vcf extension) carries name, address, phone number, email, company, and more, structured according to the spec.
When someone opens a vCard, their phone launches the contacts app with every field pre-filled. One tap to Save and the contact is in their address book — no manual typing, no OCR.
